Glen and I just got back from a fantastic two week holiday on Aruba, where we also did a lot of amazing diving.
We're now kind of hooked and are already planning our next diving trip. Since neither of us has been to Egypt before, we're thinking of heading there for a week in March next year. Of course we would like to see some of the major sights, but we also definitely also want to explore underwater life of the Red Sea. Since there are so many dive spots I have a few questions and it would be great if you could help!
- Is March a good time of the year to go and how expensive is diving in Egypt?
- Where should we base ourselves to go sightseeing and at the same time dive as much as possible?
- Has anyone ever done a liveaboard in Egypt, what was it like? Can you recommend?
- Should we fly into Cairo and then travel on from there or rather book a dive package at one of the beach resorts straight away?
Thanks for any recommendations in advance, much appreciated!
