Hello fellow travelers! I am new to this site having just stumbled onto the point here in Budapest Hungary. I have been on the road for 4 months hitchiking through western Europe and Iceland. Now I find myself enthralled by Balkan culture and want to make the best out of it, so I seek some advice. My plan is to spend a week in Croatia, with plitvice lakes, island hopping, and Dubrovnik on the itenerary. I know this is touristy. Don't remind me, yet there is a reason fr it's popularity: it's beautiful. Anyways, has anyone Islas hopped and have any recommendations for off the beaten path places in Croatia?

After this I plan to hit up Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, and maybe more. If anyone has any tips I wouldn't find from basic tourist sites that would be much appreciated. Also, has anyone hitchiked in these countries? I find the most iteresting people from such a simple exchange :)

My name is Louie. Nice to meet you!

You are going to need to spend more than a week in Croatia. If you want somewhere off the beaten track, it would have to be on the mainland. The islands are way to touristy but they are totally worth it because they are beautiful. I can't give you any further advice as to places. Hopefully, someone on here can help.

Also, Montenegro will blow your mind. It is stunningly beautiful and so cheap. Enjoy.
