Hi all,

What domestic airlines are operating within Cambodia and what are the average airfare prices? I'm travelling at the end of September.

Many thanks.

Cambodia Angkor Air seem to be the main carrier at the moment - Cambodia has had lots of airlines that have gone of out business over the last few years. There's really no need to fly that route though as it only takes around 5 hours on the bus.

Becky is right. Take the bus. Many companies make the run up to SR for about $10. Most leave in the morning for the 5 hour trip. Here is the list of companies, times and location. Good luck with your planning.

Unless you would have booked a open bus to Siem Reap from Hochiminh City (Vietnam), I would recommend you to take open bus to Siem Reap from Phnom Penh rather than airplane. Mekong Express Bus was my choice.

I agree. There are plenty of cheap and comfortable buses and much to see on the way. And you'll have the opportunity to buy the kind of snack I was offered...

I had a chance to try fried bugs at the Central Market in PP. Passed. Same chance in Pattaya. No thanks. I am a veggie, but would not have tried them even if I was not. More bugs for the rest of you!

You can even take a ferry boat up to Siem Reap from Phnom Penh. You pass through Tonlé Sap Lake where the catfish are as large as sharks.

More about Cambodia

Cambodia, while a poor country, has much to offer visitors. A trip to Cambodia not only offers glimpses into the country's glorious (Angkor) and terrifying (Khmer Rouge period) history, but also a chance to experience a beautiful country and a beautiful culture. Tourism in Cambodia is no longer just about the past.
