I see currently there are over 50 members online, of which like half have suspicious names: mostly a full name followed by a number.
Probably schools in the USA have started again as well, and they think TP is again their place to be for school projects.
I don't hope we are going to allow those teenagers again to upload photos which are not theirs right? It bugs me!
Was curious about this myself when I saw 63 members online a few minutes ago and almost as many yesterday at this same early morning time slot. (Though, it is 8:25 on the east coast and mid-afternoon in Europe.) The usernames definitely point to a class of students or one hell of a lot of spammers.
They aren't school kids no. It's a spambot trying to post spammy blog entries. We've blocked their ability to post those blog entries by requiring email verification before setting up a blog. But we are still allowing fairly easy signup.
If they don't slow down on this script, I'll have to add a captcha image to the signup process tomorrow. That will probably halt them well enough. Not really that fond of blocking signup like that, but so be it.
