Hi,

I entered NY city in the Weatheronline website for 3 weeks (5-26 January) and this is what pops up as averages:

Average Maximum Temperature (Day) -1 °C / 8 °C
Average Minimum Temperature (Night) -6 °C / 3 °C
Highest Temperature observed 22 °C
Lowest Temperature observed -16 °C
Average Days with Precipitation 8 days

As you see, it can be a bit of hit and miss, though as of lately (last couple of years) I remember that NY city had some really cold snowy weather in the wintertime.

Cheers
Mike

It's usually pretty wet and grey. Depending on the temp, snow is possible too. Not the best time to visit by a long shot, but if you're coming for New Year's Eve, it's fine.

I live in NYC and the weather in January is hit and miss. Sometimes it is mild. Sometimes it is frigid. Last year was torture with all the snow. If you dont mind the cold, come and visit! There is plenty to do indoors to stay away from the winter chill.
