Morning fellow travellers!
Question regarding working holiday visas. (UK Citizen)
Do I need to obtain them before I arrive in australia? If so, do I need to get them before I leave the UK?
also, am I required to send my passport off to the Aus embassy or is it just a case of printing a visa form at home?
I am starting to travel around Nov (India/Thai/Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos/Malaysia then onto Oz)
Yes, you will need to receive the working holiday visa before you arrive in Australia. It's not necessary to still be in the UK, but be careful booking a bunch of flights that you can't change if you haven't already received the visa. There's no reason to wait with filing for it by the way, once you get it, you can arrive in the country up to 1 year after it's granted, then stay in the country one year from your arrival date. You won't have to send off your passport, or fill in any paper forms. Just go with the online application, and assuming you don't tick any of the 'bad' boxes, you usually will have it approved within a few days. More information on preparing your application here, and here's the link to apply.
Have a great trip!

Sounds easy enough!
Once ive applied online and the visa is approved, do I then have to print my visa off or do I just turn up in Oz and my passport and they will know that I have a visa?
I'm pretty sure just your passport will suffice, but might as well print the confirmation letter to take along as well
