Planning on a few days here: -snip-, toward the end of the trip, but needing additional ideas of spots throughout Maine.
Want to see as much as the state as possible, and will have car.
Flying into PWM, and ending the week at the Inn.
Worth venturing all the way up North? and driving the border/coast down? or focus more on coast-only.
Thank you in advance for the ideas!
[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
Don't know if you have time or if it is very far from Maine... but if you have the opportunity to go to Mystic and Gloucester it would be worth it, absolutely beautiful places...
Good luck on your planning!
Mystic is in Connecticut--and while there is a "New Gloucester" in Maine, I think they are referring to the "Gloucester" in Massachusetts.
If I were going to Maine, I would focus my trip on Acadia National Park and on the small lobster villages along the coastline in the southern part of the state.
If you have a camping bug, then go inland--and if you are adventurous and want some big-city adventure, go north and visit Quebec and Montreal in Canada, or head south to Boston.
