Hi everyone.
Me and my girlfriend are really keen on taking up kiting while we're out backpacking. So I was wondering if there are any good kiting schools in Vietnam?

Thanks for all your help!

Mui Ne had kiting schools and was a really nice place to chill, but be warned that coast now has problems with box jelly fish, so suit up!

Okay! But is it a real issue, or is it just a sting now and then (not really knowledgebel about jelly fish:p) how much is a reasonable price for a beginners course?

Anyone know if there are good wind conditions coming up within a month or so?

Sorry for the basic question, but i'm totaly new to kiting

Thanks!

Arthur,
I was in Mui Ne only for a few days, but it is a pretty breezy spot. I pulled up a kitesurfing website. It seems you can get kites up all year. The box jellyfish is another issue. Good luck.

Well I don't want to scare you but go read up. Box jellyfish I was there in May and they were washing up everywhere. People were being stung but I'm not sure if it was by box jellyfish as they were saying it was painful, but not life threateningly. How much you pay for this fun, I can't remember now, but it's certainly one of the cheapest places.

If you can afford it, go to Safety Bay, just south of Perth Australia..you only have to worry about being eaten by a great white there! :)

haha, thanks Dodger! i'll be sure to look out for any great whites ;)

Read that the jellyfish are there pretty much all the time, so i guess we'll just have to try.

Still: anyone know of particulary good and cheap school? the prices vary quite a lot, so if anyone know what a good (but safe ;) price is that would be awesome!

A school is only as good as the people that teach at it. Just like dive schools, these kind of places have a turn over of staff all the time. Best thing is to just turn up and listen to what the other people taking the schools are saying. I don't think there is more than about 5 places there anyway, its not a huge scene. You can often negotiate a better price that way too.

Arthur,

i remember Nha Trang had a lot of kite surfers and strong wind, so it might be a good option to look around for a kite school...

aight, awesome!

I'll check out Nha Trang to, might as well since i'm going through the city to get to Mui Ne.

Thanks for all your help!
