Hi, I am considering going on a trek america tour around late summer or early autumn..just before my final year at university starts, I havent selected which tour to go on yet. Which other people are considering going on one of these tours? If people have been on trekamerica tours what are your experiences good? bad?

I went on a Trek tour in March 2000. We went from LA to Flagstaff and the Grand canyon to Zion/Bryce National Park and the to Vegas and back to LA. The guides are wonderful and know the best places to stop off at. In southern Utah we stopped at this cowboy themed ranch for the night with was awesome; we were met by a cowboy on a horse firing his pistol in the air! I would definitely recommend it.

Hi, thanks for your response, which tour did you go on? Was it walking? Hiking? Do the guides let you have time by yourself? Would you recommend trekamerica for beginner travellers as I haven’t really travelled before and I am a bit nervous.

I went out with college and it was the first time i had been abroad so i'd recommend it for beginners. Its pretty hectic, lots of driving during the day to get to the sights, but you get to meet the locals at night which is cool. I went on a hike-drive tour with lots of afternoon walks in the national parks and then some great times in LA and Vegas.

Hi, how much days before the tour started did you arrive? Did you use one of the trek America hotels? I am thinking of going on the walking tour where it’s mainly camping, along the east side of America. How much would you say the overall cost of your tour was and how much money would you recommend taking with you?
