Travel Forums Asia Qucik Thailand Visa Q

Hello All :)

I'll be flying from KL to Krabi to meet some friends and travelling around with them in Thailand for two weeks. Then i'll be heading up to Laos for another two weeks before re-entering Thailand and meeting another group of friends in Bangkok and then heading to the Full Moon party in Koh Phangan. I plan on catching a train from Vientiane to Bangkok which will give me a 15 day Visa, currently we have a 17 day itineary for the second entry into Thailand. Should i apply for a different Visa? Or just use the 15 day Visa i obtain when i cross over from Laos and pay the fine for overstaying??

Thanks :)

Ramadge,
You have several options.
1. Buy a 30 day visa while in Vientiane.
2. Extend your 15 day visa for 7 days, 1,900 baht.
3. Pay the 500 baht/day fine when you hit the border. I recommend you avoid this option. You DO NOT want to be in an overstay situation when in Thailand. The Thais take overstay very seriously, so should you. Here is an older post on overstaying that you should read. Good luck.

You really are a guru! - I think i like the sound of option 2! How do i arrange this? Can it be done at the border?

No. You will have to go to Immigration BEFORE your 15 days are up. Fill out the form, photos, 1,900 baht.
Good luck.
