driving from uk to south africa across africa

hi all

i am planning a trip driving from uk down to south africa. i am looking for anyone that wants to join drive with or tag along anything goes.
im planning it for 2013. im also looking for some good info on trip what ever info u can give that can help.

we did the trip in 2008/2009, went back to Africa for another 4 months in 2010, our car is still down there. www.ourwildjourney.com might give you more info.

Hi,

Just completed a trip ,overlanding with a landrover defender 130 from South Africa,to the Uk.
Your biggest exspence is Europa and the Uk.
From there it is all down hill..camp were you please..he he no cost,Kenya exspensive but just miss all tourist traps.Spesially game reserves..In South Africa you can visit came parks..at quater of the price..
Please ask will give more detail..all i can say it will be a trip of a life time..and Cheap.
Any one intrested in a Defender kitted for a trip? reister in Sa so will be a breeze to sell and make back your money

Sorry to revive this thread as it's quite old but I'd be really interested to know your plans for driving from the UK to SA.
It's something I'd love to do but don't really know much about how to plan it out

hi!
i'm really interested in your trip. can you tell me more about it? how many months are you planning on travelling for? is it only South Africa or the whole continent? Sorry if I seem ignorant but i've never heard of driving from the uk to Africa! would it be driving, cross the channel, drive, cross the mediterranean, drive???
