Never heard of it either.

Jasmine, where are you regarding your travel plans? Have you got any firm sort of plans, or are you still faffing about?

Now these are the deals-now are they just too good to be true-i got the website out of a local newspaper along with many more.

Oh yes James-i'm still faffing about-oh that really made me laugh-as its soooo true!! I know you people love me really, lol!

I know i want to do the east coast and Sydney/Melbourne, doesn't make any difference to me if i travel up or down the east coast.

You know what-seeing as i can't do anything right round here-i was so tempted last night to jack it all in and just book a ticket-i'm am getting so very close, but realistically-i will be over in October!

Nothing quite like FROM pricing!

The problem with deals like this is when you call you'll invariably find that they apply to 1 or 2 seats, and these are of course gone by the time you get through :(

I prefer companies that steadily have the better prices. They have usually been around longer, know their thing and have bigger support networks. Companies like STA and Flight Centre (that's in the UK as well right?) are also prominent in Australia and draw their fares from the same databases as most travel agents but have the benefit of being able to negotiate additional good (student) fairs based on their buying power.

But, if you can find a good deal like this (mmm, the Singapore Airlines one for example...) then go for it!

yeh-that's what i thought about the 'from' situation but even if you add on another £100 it still seems good. yeh STA and the flight centre are in the UK as well. I suppose it wouldnt harm mailing them or phoning.Oh yeh you can email them-not that they will get back to you!

I must be able to get a better deal than £760-with a stopover!

Thanks Sam

Ah yes, the joys of emails these days :)

I can slightly understand it though although it should not be condoned. If you consider that I get roughly 70-100 emails a day through Travellerspoint (granted, a fair few are SPAM but still), it must be ridiculous amounts for a company like STA where there are a lot of questions. Another problem is the typical copy/paste email or email that is sent to 10 companies at once. Emails like this just overload operators whereas the likelihood of the person that emails actually booking is close to zero. Operators know this and allocate their resources to where for them the highest conversion lies, walk in customers and people that take the time to call and talk to someone....

Ok, spoken like a true operator that :)

hhaha! oh i only have to come on here to get my daily dose of hysterical laughter!

yeh spoken like a true operator. I can see what your saying, i suppose i have got all week this week-where as normally i dont even get a spare minute to myself!

God look at the time i was supposed to getting my car taxed and picking up a few bits-right i'm going to go now or i will never leave!
