Quoting MASSAGEUK

americans claim now to have the vaccine - but first it has to be tasted on humans. Thai government most probably will allow it - but it would take 2 months to go through the formal procedures.

Vietnam already tested their vaccine in monkeys - with a positive effect. The test on humans can start in September - and the first mass supply of the vaccine expected only at the end of 2006.

The only antiviral medicine to alleviate the symptoms of flu takes 1 year to make - that's why it's sold now up to 5 pounds/$10 per tablet.

I don't see how the americans can have a vaccine, when they don't know what strain of the flu virus will manifest as the pandemic. Unless they know this, any vaccine they develop will be useless!

most probably they have good laboratories and good scientists trying to make a mixture of known and predicted virus mutations.

Not perfect - but Thai government is considering to allow human testing (free vaccination + supply of it when the americans start to produce it commercially).

Hi, It is true that bird flu is a deadly disease. WHO is supposed to be genuinely concerned, but it is creating too much of panic. Certainly there are anti virals available in the market. For further information some one can visit this url which I came across while searching through web.
