I am going on a round the world trip starting in January 2012: I will be landing in Buenos Aires and leaving from Santiago 5 months later, maybe slightly less, and I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to make the most of it!
Mapping out a budget in advance is proving to be quite a challenge considering I have to take the rest of my RTW trip into account, I don't know if I'll be able to count on more than $700 or $800 per month.
I don't want to overplan but would like to take some Spanish classes when I get to Argentina, for maybe two or three weeks (any advice on that?), ideally get a job in a hostel for a bit until I'm comfortable (read comprehensible) enough with my Spanish to move on. I am also planning on volunteering, though I haven't yet determined when, where, and for how long (any advice on that?).
I want to travel across Argentina, through Bolivia, across Peru, make it to Ecuador before going to Chile through Peru. I don't know if this is a very good plan or not, I have a hard trying to figure out how much time I'll need, and if I possibly have enough time to do more, see more..
Such a pity that round the world tickets are only valid one year!
Advice and suggestions on all of this are more than welcome, I'm at a confusing stage and would love some insight!
Also, I'll be on my own, so I'd be happy to be in contact with fellow travelers who might be around at that time, and tips for solo female travelers would also be appreciated!
