Hi, so it looks like theres alot heading out in the new year...?! I arrive in Sydney on Jan 28th, I've opted for Wake up to based on recommendation, heard its awesome and pretty much has a good mix of everything so why not?

Are any of you peeps gonna be around at the end of Jan?

Hi all,

I am going to Sydney on 27th December, then moving on up the east coast shortly after new years. Good to see other travellers are starting out at that sort of time.
I'm going solo too, and am a first time traveller. will no doubt bump into some of you up the east coast.
Anyone else doing NZ and after Oz?

Good to see that there are so many heading to Sydney at the same time, will be good to meet up! Get a huge Travellers point meet up when everyone's arrived! (That doesnt sound to geeky does it?)

Its going to be well weird going in freezing conditions of Britain to hot temperatures down under, will probably take me a month to adjust to the heat, will still probably burn tho!

I hoping to be In Sydney for a while, but all depends on job, as its pretty expensive just to be floating about there!

I might do NZ on the way up Oz, a flying visit across.

I am going to land sydney in the morning on jan 2nd. i will be there for a while. I realized its really expensive there, I am really excited but a little nervous. I am travelling alone. It is pretty hectic trying to find a place to settle right after new years holiday. I will face the adventure. Hope someone is travelling that same time.

Think there will be loads of peeps going on my own...Its weird i keep thinking to myself this time in 2 months I'll be in a hot country otherside of the world...madness!!

Reanna - Wake up is possibly the most popular, but its massive, some prefer bigger places, I wanted something smaller but also has a good vibe, heard good reviews on Blue parrot that's why i picked it. If you check out hostel world, you can see what hostels are like from pictures and reviews.

Mishstead - Heard bad things about surfside on Coogee's, but they may have improved since the reviews were published.

Missy347 - will prob see you there if your there for a while, Like you I plan to stay in Sydney for a bit (Job and liking it dependant)..where have you booked?

Katyhickey - I'm going to get an commonwelath bank account, due to the fact there more readily available. theyre all much of a muchness, It's killing me having to pay to keep your own money in a bank..what's that all about!??
You can set one up before you go btw, just go to the website of your preferred bank..(NAB, ANZ, Commonwealth or Westpac)
