Me and a group of 4 people are stopping off in Fiji (no direct route in fiji) for around 2 weeks in May, looking for somewhere cheap (10 - 15 euro per nite) to rest our heads for the first few nights. Any one any suggestions??? Please....Thanks
Would you consider staying with the locals?? If so, check out www.fijibure.com for info on how to stay in local villages -- it suits budget travellers because it is around F$60/night which includes all your meals, etc. So check it out if you're interested, it also suits groups of friends because some villages only take up to six people at any one time, and most have access to some beautiful remote places in fiji off-limits to normal tourists -- in other words, the place is yours for two weeks!!! No crowded dorms, etc...
Good luck on your travels, I hope it all goes well.
I stayed at Nadi bay Hotel and it was a cool place for relaxing. It had a really nice pool and did nice meals. the location wasn't the best but if you just want somewhere to chill out for a couple of days while you plan where you want to go for the rest of your time in Fiji then it's an excellent place to stay. they did a pick-up from the airport and I think it was something like F$15/19 per night for a dorm (fan/aircon) but they also had doubles/twins, etc.
I have just spent a week in fiji after RTW trip. I met alot of people who wwent around many resorts/backpackers and aparently where i was staying was the best place in fiji, especially for its price (better then beachcomber). It was called 'The Beachhouse". It is on the beautiful coral coast and is about 1 1/2 from nadi airport and about $6 on a public bus, which is perfectly safe. People there are lovely and there is heaps to do. hope i can help, it is full of young people, very fun.
I have just spent about 6 days in Nadi, Fiji and I stayed at a place called the Travellers Beach Resort, it is very cheap, only FJ$11 a night, but if you want one of those rooms it is best to book in advance, I can get you the email address if you want, just send me an email or something on here. If you have a VIP card it means you get $1 off so that makes it only FJ$10 a night! Pretty good as well.
