Hi Trishy_Baby

Don't worry about an accommodation in Bkk. There are many budget hotels in Khao San Rd.
Below are hostels recommended by Thai people.

There is no shortage of hotels to stay at in Bangkok in all price ranges - especially in the off season! Khao San Road is only one area. There are other areas of Bangkok where you can even use the cheap rail service. (No rail service in KSR area!) It is even possible to use the Airport Rail Link to take you to Pratunam area for hotels you can walk to or continue on with the Skytrain for other areas in the Siam, Silom or Sukhumvit Road area.

head for ko san road, theres loads along there all within your sort of budget and with your own private bathroom..i forget the name of the one i stayed in but i remember it being a big tall white building on the left as you walk along ko san road, there was a tattoo shop downstairs and it was about a 3rd of the way along along ko cant go wrong, theres hundreds of hostels and hotles in that vacinity... soon as you arrive at the end of ko san and get out your taxi and head up ko san roas you'll probably get harassed quite abit by guy's trying to get you into certain hotels and hostels, many are scam's...just keep walking and check the hotels for yourself...if they do take you to a half decent hotel theres usually fee's placed on top of the going rate for them!!

take care and happy travels!!

That place is called Buddy Lodge :D

Go diresctly to Khao San Road. You will find plenty of service apartments there all in reasonable budget.

I agree with Dave,

After fairly extensive research I settled on the D&D Inn, its right on Khao San, i took the cheapest room at 550Baht - it was fine, clean, with en-suite and includes a fairly decent buffet breakfast. there's also a pool on the roof. The road can get pretty noisy at night so ask for a room at the back of the building - or you can do like my mate and spend 750-ish a night and get a bigger nicer looking room which will defo be quiet. If you do book there give them an actual phone call a couple of days before to confirm your booking because ive read stories on the net of people turning up and they dont have a booking for them although because i called first i had absolutlely no probs. Although if your budget is up to 1050 there are loads of options that would suit as earlier posters suggested try travelfish for honest and comprehensive reviws.

p.s Im also English from Reading and now live on Phuket, if you plan to come i can help find accomm down here, i cant post any details cos the moderators will remove it, but you can click on my profile and message me, i can help, i now work in the travel industry on the island and can give a bit of insider knowledge.

Have a fun and safe trip

I have also stayed in the rooms for 550 baht at D&D. The breakfast is pretty lame but the room is nice and clean, I even had a TV!
