Hey all,
I've been to Sydney as a solo traveller and I stayed in The Wizard of Oz Hostel on Coogee Beach. I had a great time here. Its a really nice hostel, more like a big house, so its not that packed and has a really laid back friendly atmosphere. Its pretty clean aswell (which is hard to find) and reasonably priced. Highly recommend it if you want to stay near the beach. A really good place to meet people if your travelling alone.
Avoid Noahs Backpackers on Bondi Beach, couldnt get out of their fast enough....dive.
Enjoy Sydney......so jealous!

Hey Grace
I mixed up my dates thought I was arriving the 15th Feb from Thailand actually arriving the 12th Feb glad I doubled checked me tickets before I booked just now ha. I was looking for something cheap but I settled on Wake Up Sydney for the first 5 days when I get there. Its a bit expensive at $36 a night but it seems good has a few free tours thrown in & i read its a good place to meet people which is handy travelling alone. I booked it through this website was handy enough. Best of luck choosing your hostel. How long are you travelling for?

Thanks for the advice stodwag.

Luke

Hey Luke,

Wake Up is looking like my choice aswel, as ive seen it flying about a bit and a friend stayed there for a week when he was in Sydney and said it was amazing! It has like a club underneath it aswel or something which could be interesting!!

I have a year visa, so depending how i get on out there/if i like it etc.. ill be staying :) how long is your visa?
- also hoping to meet people who want to head over to se asia after as im desperate to see thailand/vietnam/indonesia etc. Im looking into Thailand for newyear for the Full Moon Party then head back over to Oz, but plans may change when im in Oz i guess!

Im immensly jealous your leaving in Feb - i need to work my arse off to change my flights earlier!

Grace, x
