Hi all.

I dont leave home with out my ipod. Its my saviour. I got the mini duty free in singpore for $350 aus dollars, which is like 100 pounds. Before that i traveled with cd's and now ill never go back. I take the leads with me when i travel and hook it up to a pc when i get the chance to edit my play lists but its great. I also got given the ad on radio tuner and a "i trip" which means i can tune any radio into my i pod and play my music over any stereo system. Its awesome.

thinking of getting the Creative Zen Touch 20Gb, which is currently about £150 but it holds 5000 songs on it. awesome value for money compared to an ipod

I'm glad you brought this up again! I'm gonna bring my new and very very pink IPod mini on my South America travels... Doesn't make my life perfect but it helps.

What did we do before MP3 players!! They are fantastic - I remember having to cart my discman and a bunch of CDS around on previous trips! The CDS always ended up gettin scratched or broken or something and the discman is so obvious because you cant really fit it into a pocket or anything.

My Zen fits almost anywhere. The earphones on it were useless though. I dropped one of the them into my mug of coffee the other day at work (I'm still trying to figure out if it was an accident or I did it on purpose ). Anyway, it gave me the perfect excuse to trot off to to buy some INFINTELY SUPERIOR ONES!!

I've about 2000 songs on it at the moment, and there's still oodles of space left!

I found a more cost effective solution then an ipod or other such expensive mp3 players.

prior to travelling RTW last year, i purchased a sony mp3 playing discman which set me back $150AUD. i already had a large collection of music in mp3 format and so all it required was burning a bunch of cd's. I took about 15 cd and on this i was able to hold, o, probably 8-10 albums per cd, which, if i know my multiplication correctly is somewhere between 120-150 albums and about 1000-2000 songs depending on size of albums, file size, etc.

i realised that the batteries in my discman lasted ooodles longer then my friends ipod, up to about 60hours battery life per recharge.

so all in all, it took me quite a bit of time to sort the music, but for less then $200 i had something which i thought was as good as an ipod......

just a thought

oy, yea, and i didnt pirate any music, because i have all the original cds.
