Hey I reckon we're all into meeting people on this thing. Despite me bein really annoyin and constantly stealin everyone elses stuff. I keed I keeed. I'm lovely.

Yeah I struggled getting accommodation last week but I managed it so you should be able to find somewhere. I'd try 'Railway Square' and 'World Square' hostels that's where I managed a week in each over the festive period.

Goin alone is daunting isn't it. I'm tryin not to think about it just get meself on the plane and hope I am still alive this time next year. What else can you wish for really :-/

Take it from someone who's done it before, the worst part is going through the gates of the airport for your flight, but as soon as your there its so easy to make friends, sydney is BY FAR the best place for making friends in my opinion as there is so much going on. Theres a few good bars for backpackers around Central (So handy for Railway Square, World Square, Westend Backpackers, Maze, YHA, Wakeup! etc) and they have different things going on most nights and the drinks tend to be pretty cheap. Also if your staying in that area your right next to china town so theres some really good cheap food courts there, and easy walking distance to loads else including darling harbour and can walk to circular quay in about 1/2 hour so pretty good location!

still looking at the logistics of my trip. I think I'm heading to NZ first, then Sydney for NYE then out to the hinterlands, maybe Ayers rock, Melbourne? this is likely my one trip to Australia and I only have a week, maybe two at the most. (i have a bit of a demanding job)I also might arrive in Aus early to do the toursity stuff, then head to NZ after NYE. Or maybe do it all before NYE and head home on 1st. Anyway, this is just me thinking out loud.

Any suggestions on must sees? I'm thinking Ayers rock, great barrier reef, ....and I'll look at UNESCO's sight for more.
