Quoting Trishy_Baby

Hi guys,

so my plans have changed (due to the flights being cancelled from my local airport) and my plans to travel Thailand are on the verge of being put off (for now). However i now have the options of flying to oz via, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately i had all my research done on Thailand and no nothing about these other cities!

Can anyone give me some info on them re: how many days you'd recommend in one of them..how expensive are they (I've heard these are much more expensive than Thailand) and any good attractions in any of them!

Some people have said spending 2-3 days in any one of these places is enough, as there "just another city"!

Please help shed some light on this for me

Thanks :) x

Airlines are still flying to Thailand. Suvarnabhumi is operating normally. Tourists are still visiting Thailand by the thousands. Parts of Bangkok have flooding but the majority of locations in Bangkok that tourists frequent are still open for business. Pratunam, Sukhumvit and Siam areas still available for tourists. (Just in case your airline has started flying to Bangkok again.)

If you are on a tight budget of the three places on your list Kuala Lumpur will be the cheapest. How long will you be in Asia overall? From KL you can take a train up to Thailand. There is train service from KL to Bangkok and also from KL to Singapore. For me, KL would be more practical and convenient for getting to other nearby countries. But this depends on how long you can delay your continuing trip to Oz. Penang is not that far from KL by train or bus and even cheaper than KL.

Up to you!

Quoting karazyal -

This is sound advice.

I would always sing the praises of Hong Kong, but like karazyal said KL is the cheaper option, so if you are on a budget this is a great place to visit.

Have fun.

Ashley

HI, Trishy

Welcome to Hong Kong!!!

I'm hongkongers n hv been all three cities, to be fair, i would like to say IT's NO REGRET that pick up HKG in your priority.
HKG is an international city, u can meet different nationality, interesting attractions and activities.
N it's very convince to take either train, tram, bus around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories.
Everything u wanna buy or spend is very reasonable price,
But there's one thing u hv to know --- expensive accommodation!!!

lemme know if u hv question on ur plan.

btw, im going to australia soon. :-)
