Hi I have a hotel booked for morningside inn from 28th dec till 1st Jan
Due to flight can cancellations I now arrive on the 30th December. I've called the hotel I've emailed them over 20 times they told me it was ok on the phone and said they would confirm by email they didnt they have never replied by email its very irriTating what should I do? Does any one know other emails I could use? I'm from Australia and custOmer service is brilliant there so far from what i see from the Americans it's appalling!! I just wNt to make sure my hotel is booked for nye!

Welcome to New York - this is not the place if you want good customer service. The norm in NYC is rude. I'm American, and I can tell you that NYC is not a good representation of the rest of this country. Demand for hotel rooms in this town is so high, that they can charge just about anything for a room and it will sell.

Personally, I think you can do much better than this. This place is rated at one star - can you get any lower? I know something about prices in this town since I was just there last month on my return from Turkey. Instead of a hotel, I booked a shared apt in Brooklyn for $79. and it was very nice. Have a look at the listings on Airbnb for Manhattan - I've looked at several on the Upper West Side myself (some very nice places for about $100. or less.)

The really nice thing about sharing an apt is that the host will give you all sorts of tips about NY!

Did you read the following review for the Morningstar on Tripadvisor:

I booked this hotel in january and had an e-mail confirmation from them. My partner phoned them the day before we were due to travel just to make sure all was well and they had no record of the booking at all. Further to that the attitude of the person on the phone was pretty rude. She instructed us to e-mail the manager (apparently the only way to contact him) and he would e-mail us back within 5 minutes, it's a week later and i'm still waiting. Got another hotel (city park) that was only $30 a night more and was great and in a much better location

Your not wrong its not a place for customer service!!! never mind its booked now.. !! Ill just keep trying with them.. im just gonna have to rock up! coz every where is booked out!

ROom needs to be private.
