Hey,

I've only jus joined this site, but have been looking to travel to australia for a year around April 2012. I also want to see New Zealand and other places Like Thailand and Fiji so i was jus wondering if anyone was going around that time?
Has anyone booked through Realgap before because i was thinking of going with them, but it looks very expensive, and i dunno if i could go on my own for less.

Thanks :)

Well done it tonight.

Booked the bus from Glasgow to London (coming in at only a fiver!).
Flying out to Koh Samui on the 26th of Feb, and then onto Sydney on the 16th March.

Delighted to have it all sorted.

Hii Clloejane,

I'm not going untill July just so I can get some saving done in time, if I could I'd go tomorrow lol. I've been looking at a few sites because even though I've been on this I think I'd still feel more confident starting with a group even jus for a few days but RealGap looks really expensive the best one I've seen so far is Oz Intro and the best way to do your flights is looking like STA travel, cheapest flights for students or people under 26 I think it is not 100%, I'm thinking of going with Thia Intro to Thialand and staying theere for 3 weeks then to Oz to hopefully work in sydney for a couple months then travel east coast then to New Zealand and figi then depending on funds possibly back to thialand again on the way home if I liked it anyway. I'm going for a minimum 6months maximum 12 months.

Hope you find a good site to go with x

Hey Chloejane. Ive changed my plans again and im going in november now due to not enough money. Stopping over in fiji for a couple of days then heading to oz for 11 months and fitting in a month in new zealand. ive got good tips from this sitex

On the STA Travel one being the cheapest - I found that SkyScanner was cheaper (okay we are talking £10/£15 a flight, but it all adds up!

Suppose the booking on group things is all down to personal experience, I think by going on what people on here are saying then plenty of folk are going on their tod - and should be able to meet with plenty of others.

Thanks guys :), i jus dont wanna end up spending loads on jus going out.
I'll definietly look at skyscanner though, i didnt even think of that one.

What about Insurance?? do you think its worth getting it for the year as the cheapest one i've found is £300.

Shellben, are you going through a site or planning it on your own and does it work out cheaper if you do??

Claire.S, yeah im the same, if i could go sooner i would lol. Thanks for the suggestions they sound really good :), and your trip sounds amazing. Are you going on your own too??
