Becki81 has indicated that this thread is about Working Holiday Visa (Australia)

Hi

Does anyone know if you can travel on a working holiday visa to Oz once you have turned 31? I know you can apply for it when you are 30 but want to know if you actually have to go before your 31st or whether its ok to wait until after to fly out.

I turn 31 late April so it doesnt give me long to save. Would prefer to go over June/July time so i dont have to panic about having enough money.

any advise would be appreciated as i cant find the answer anywhere on the net.

Thanks x

Yes (as long as you applied for the WHV while still 30), you have 1 year from the date the WHV was granted to enter Australia, and from that point on, the WHV is valid for a full year. (source)

So hypothetically one could apply the day before they turned 31 (note that Australian time is used for calculating this), enter Australia 2 days before they turned 32, and stay in the country until 3 days before they turned 33.

Brilliant thank you! Every site i've looked at says you need to be 30 to apply but nothing about actually getting there after you've turned 31!
