Hi!! I have recently arrived in Edinburgh and it is great! Make sure you visit the Castle, do an underground vaults tour, I have also heard that Arthurs Seat has great views (has been to cold for me to get up there yet).

I bought a tourist discount card that has also been excellent. It has discounts at different attractions and heaps of restaurants (Check out Clever Dicks for a free bottle of wine!!!). The card is called Entertainment Card, check out www.entertainment-card.com it does cost £10 but I have saved about £30 in the last three days so it has been great.

If you want to go out in Edinburgh there is great nightlife. For pubs go to the Grassmarket, Clubs are good in the cowgate (Espionage is my favourite) but there are so many you will probably find something suited to yourself!

I am staying in Budget Backpackers just off the grassmarket and it has been great - clean, central and friendly staff!

I hope this helps you out a bit on your trip!

Enjoy!

Hello Bruce85,

Edinburgh is one of my favoraite cities. It has so many wonderful layers to it. The night life is great and the music scene is like no other I found in the UK. Oh and the people are so jovial.

There are some inexpensive hostals around the University. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the friendly hostal we stayed in. A lot of Aussies and Kiwis.

You'll have a fantastic time. Explore everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be well,
Ianina
