scappoose has indicated that this thread is about Panama

I booked a flight on 19 Dec. 2004 with Aeroperlas in Panama City. Aeroperlas baggage personnel stole my camera, case, film, and spare battery from my checked baggage. Aeroperlas personnel were uninterested in questioning their baggage handlers or offering me any assistance. They did not return my calls and inquiries. Their airport manager finally agreed to compensate me for the theft, but he, too, failed to follow through. I recommend avoiding Aeroperlas at all cost.

I would like to report that persistence pays: Four months after the theft, and after many e-mailed messages and requests for action and compensation for my stolen camera, Aeroperlas paid up and sent a letter of apopogy.

Sounds like TOO little, TOO late. I can imagine all the time you wasted with emails, etc.. Stuff can obviously be stolen BUT their lack of assistance seems like Aeroperlas would still be an airline to avoid.
