Quoting everywhere

A bit advantageous, all the posts stating Warren 'Was', would you agree?

The past tense is more in reference to how he was when he was a member on here. He used to be a very active member of this forum until things turned sour. At which point he was banned. I think we all want things to end well in this situation though.

I agree with Peter (and others) in wishing the best for Wocca.

Even if he is released, I hope he ends up (mentally) ok. It must be pretty awful.

I also agree with Peter about the past tense references. It has been a few years (if memory serves, at least six) since Warren was a TP member. Those of us who were around during that time are working on old memories - hence the past tense. If Warren was still a member, the past tense would not be the reference point.

As of December 16th, we know he is still alive. But, from the previous news reports he was in poor health when abducted. He is ex-military, survived a gun shot wound and a year of captivity so far. He may have lost his hope but knowing him - he is not one to give up without a fight. Like James, (if released) his mental health will be an issue. Hopefully, he will allow himself professional help to remove the demons that will definitely be haunting him.

Current update.

''To the Australian government ... we officially inform you that your citizen Warren Rodwell is in our custody and control ... and now facing Islamic shariah. If you have concerned with your men, we will give you a chance to save his life before it's too late, as soon as possible time, otherwise he will suffer unusual way of Death.''

Not good.

Sheesh, that's terrible. He looks really thin and weak too. Really though, the Australian government can't do anything when the ransom they are demanding is publicly being earmarked for more attacks... I guess some kind of military action is their best hope.

Sam's probably right and the kidnappers stated "as soon as possible" - no set date so that may bide the government a bit more time. (Hell, send in mercenaries who play by their own rules.) They are just armed cowards. If you kidnap people, demand large amounts of money and still need to wear a mask - take it off and 'man' up. (That's just me...) I hope it's resolved before we have to read an obituary. :(

That's fantastic news. Let's hope he has a speedy (physical and mental) recovery.

I wonder if he'll be interviewed in the media or something?

He certainly leads a colourful life!
