not feeling too nervous at the moment.. i still need to sort what im taking.. think got most bits but not sure until i lay it all out..

well i am coming back for my mates wedding (and hopefully stag do).. otherwise i would hopefully have gone for longer.. but going back to work afterwards.. well thats the plan..

I have been advised to get accommodation sorted for at least your first night in bangkok..otherwise you get hassled by all the locals trying to sell you stuff etc..

no just doing se asia this trip.. might be tempted to work in aus for a year,.. couple of my sis friends have done/doing it.. seems to be a nice lifestyle..

Oh good, glad to hear some positive things about Air Asia :D

Booking my flight tomorrow with STA Travel, been in today to get a brochure and find out about insurance/cash cards etc. The guy was really good and seemed to know what he was talking about so i'm not worried anymore :) Think one of my friends may be coming with me now too so it should be interesting! Still no idea what route i'm taking yet though haha.

Does anyone have any accomodation booked in BKK around the 19th of Feb?

xx

Heya, yes I got their insurance and cash card.. As well as booking my flights through them, they were very helpful with me too..

I have no idea on route yet either.. Have been told that you learn lots from other people. You sorting visa's out before hand or not?

Go for accommodation in or close by khao San road.. I'm booked in to wild orchid villa, a few minutes walk from khao San road but no idea on what it's like but looks good, nice and clean etc... I can try and let you know what its like when i get there if you want.

I should still be around that way when you arrive although not sure if I will be in Bangkok still...

Alrite folk,

anyone else got similar plans, let us know!

I heard a few people had some problems with their cashcards from STA though, mainly just to do with fees for withdrawing/transferring money? Other than that they sound like a good idea though!

I think i'm going to get my visa for Vietnam before i go, although some people reckon it's better (cheaper!) to get it in Bangkok? From what i gather, for Thailand you get a free 30 day one as you fly in, and i'm not sure about Laos or Camodia, are they just stamps?!

I've been looking a Sawasdee Bangkok Inn for my first few nights, which is on Khao San Road :)

The other thing i'm a bit unsure about is transfers, STA said they can do one for £15, does anyone know if this is expensive?!

Hey Guys,

Im now living in Thailand but originally from the UK (Reading, to be precise). I am lucky that i now have my own business here in Phuket. If anyone would like any advice about travelling in Thailand specifically in Phuket than i would be happy to share if anyone has any specific queries.

Also if any of you are planning to come to Phuket ( I would highly reccommend it!) than im happy to give a bit of insiders info on where is good to go out, what to do while you're here, places to stay etc. Maybe even go out for a beer whilst you're here.

Enjoy yourselves in SE Asia!
