A snake heart in a shot glass of its own blood. The heart is very small but you have to drink it in one gulp to get it down. Not alchoholic but you are supposed to live forever or something.

Add a little tequila and you might have something there... At least you wouldn't care about what you just drank quite so much. Are we talkin' venomous or non-venomous snakes and what culture said, "Hey, let's try snake hearts and see if we live forever"? (Yeah, I know every culture has had a blood drinking ritual at one time or another.)

I know there are more libations (of any type) that need to be shared...

Thought this topic was going away? Ha!

This is from a friend in Mexico. (Copied/pasted directly, not wanting to lose the latin accent through transcription.)

Vampire cocktail recipe:

1.- In a large glass most be topped with salt at the glass edge and ice.
Moisture the edge with lime juice and in a small plate full of salt touch the glass edge against the salt, the salt will stick to the edge.

2.- 1 portion or shot of white tequila (most be white not reposado or añejo, because the beverage don't need fine tequila to be prepared).

3.- 1/2 squeezed lime (green lemon, not yellow).

4.- 3 portions or shots of "sangrita" red spicy Mexican beverage.

5.- Fill up the glass with grapefruit soda, the beverage level don't touch the salt at the glass edge.

6.- Mixed and when you drink it, touch first the salt with your lips or tongue and then drink the "vampire", the combination is a little bit spicy.

7.- If you like spicier add 2 or 3 drops of Tabasco sauce.

I hope you and your wife enjoy this beverage, careful with the tequila.... maybe you don't fill it at the beginning, but after 3 or 4 you will.

Here's one if you're feeling brave, very simple to make as well.

Whisky + tomato juice and then break an egg into it. Don't mix it. Just straight down in one. Have a bucket handy, came in useful for me!!!!!!!!!!!

That one's also considered a cure for hangovers. Whether it stays where you put it or not, you're suppose to feel better afterwards.

There's a variation of that in New Orleans too. Whiskey + Bloody Mary mix + dash Tabasco. The egg can be replaced with a raw oyster.

Oyster shooters - one oyster on the 1/2 shell, drain the juice, replace with tequila and shoot it down.
