I have a problem creating a numeric list in a blog post.

It shows a bullet list irrespective of choosing the numeric or bullet alternative in the icon heading.

Have a look at the bottom of this entry. That list actually has hash (#) signs (commanding numeric lists), but ends up as if the asterisk sign (*) has been used.

This is because the watercolour stylesheet you've based your personal stylesheet on has a single rule for list items in both ordered and unordered lists.
Find the line which says:
.entry li
and change it to
.entry ul li

I did. However that command simply removes everything, bullets as well. I would like to be able to use either bullets or numerals. Not just bullets, or nothing at all. :(

Ah, my apologies. I overlooked there's another selector which was affecting the list item.
So, at the bottom of the file, add the following line:
.entry ol li { list-style: decimal inside; }

Right! That second piece of advice worked. I skipped the first tip and entered the second command. Now the template separates between bullets and numeric lists. Thanks!
