How have you disgraced yourself ... quite intentionally of course

Oooops! Try that again as I switch out of holiday and party mode now I'm back home in China:

How have you disgraced yourself ... unintentionally of course ?

I liked "intentionally" better. As in "I meant to fall down the marble stairs at the cinema in front of 200 people on my first-ever blind date."

I wasn't travelling, though, so it doesn't really count.

It wasn't embarasing, just confusing though...

I had just spent 2 month in Germany, speaking German... And I met a peruvian girl there who couldn't speak the language so I was tranlating from Spanish to German for her all the time. Suddenly my head didn't do the switch (I don't know why...) and I was speaking Spanish to that German guy who was looking at me with those round eyes!! -- I thought myself very stupid all of a sudden!!

Montego Bay, Jamaica - Walking and talking at the same time while wearing a strapless dress. Took one step more than the length of the pier, plummeted 10 ft to the ocean and came up with the top of the dress now at waist level. Yes, there were quite a few spectators and a round of applause.

Manzanillo, Mexico - A Canadian friend, who had never been skinnydipping, talked me into it at a resort where we were staying. We chose (what we thought was) the darkest, most secluded part of the beach. Five minutes later, 2 security guards and an American acquaintance showed up (who played translator). Guards would not leave nor turn away while we exited the water. (Ooooh, big deal!) Turns out, the flood lights on the roof of the disco put us directly in the spotlight for all to watch. Most embarrassing part, my dad was on vacation with me and my friend made sure to tell him all the juicy details before I got down to breakfast. (He relished in the humor of it for years after.)

Oh my god! My story definitely does not compete with yours isadora, but here goes!

I was walking in SoHo (in London), admiring the beautiful architecture. Basically, I wasn't looking at the ground, nor was I looking right in front of me. I was looking up at the buildings. So I didn't see the dip in the sidewalk, anticipated the ground which was not where I thought it would be, lost my balance and fell down with a yelp, landing on all fours. My cousin and sister who were with me at the time, looked back to see what the yelp was about and found me laughing on all fours. So that would be my most embarrassing story while travelling. Got plenty more embarrassments but not while travelling though!

Maybe when you're a little older... Actually, I don't have any pix of either incident - but I'm sure someone somewhere in the world does!

It happend on a trip...but could have happend anywhere...I had just used the restroom on the first floor and was heading back up to the 2nd floor (bar/eatery/dancefloor, my sister looked my way and she BURST out laughing...I had a skirt on, and the skirt was completely tucked into my undies......:(
Now I smooth out the ENTIRE skirt before leaving the restroom
