Hi guys,

I'm lucky enough to now live in Thailand but i'm originally from the UK. I've been here for over a year already and am happy to give any advice about travelling in this fabulous country, specifically about Phuket which is where i stay.

If any of you guys are planning to come to Phuket (i highly reccommend it!) just let me know and i'll give you some locals insider knowledge about where to go, what to do and i can help you find good guesthouses, bungalows etc.

I hope you all have safe and happy trips!

hi there, my hubby and i did thailand in 2006 for three weeks and loved it. while there make sure you do the Hongs. its a tour in a boat then you get into kyaks with a personal guide who does all the paddling. you have to lay down on your back sometimes to get into these islands that seem to come out of the water straight up. inside the water level is only 2 feet. its amazing. you get light lunch and then they do a full meal using the catch of the day while you were having fun. it was so cheap. every thing is cheap. also reccomend Fantasea. a full on thai show with a meal. not to be missed. we did these while we stayed in phuket. the markets there are just as cheap as bangkok so dont feel you have to hold out for something cheaper.have fun:)

Hi everyone,

I finish studying in June and I'm going to travel Thailand for 8 weeks. Just looking for any tips and to if anyone else is going about that time?

Hi, I'm going right at the end of May, returning late July. It's my second time in Thailand but first time as a solo traveller.
My rough itinerary-

Bangkok - 3 nights
Pattaya - 4 nights
Phuket -3 nights (depending on weather)
Phi Phi - 4 nights
Koh Tao - 2 weeks (scuba diving)
Koh Phangan - 5 nights (Full moon party early July)
Koh Samui - 3 weeks

If it's you're first time in Thailand, you might want to head north from Bangkok. Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai and Chaiang Rai are all well worth a look and give an insight to Thai culture a bit more than the beach resorts.

Hope this helped

meatball... i will be on ko phangan for the july fmp ... you can message me if you want to meet up or be friends w me on facebook. I am traveling from ko lanta to ko phi phi to krabi the week before the party, and going to ko tao (to hopefully dive) after the party. then back to bangkok and headed home..

I'll be in pattaya and bangkok 2 weeks before the party, and vietnam/cambodia for 3 weeks before getting to thailand. It's also my 2nd trip to the land of smiles, but I've traveled solo a handful of times before. :)

So true! I will be studying near Pattaya and finish also in the end of June. Then I'm hitting the southern Thai islands and Ko Phangan for the July FMP. So if you want to message or find on Facebook.. feel free.
