Hey Megan, Im liking the sound of your plans, your so brave at only 18 planning to go on your own. I wish i was that brave at 18, its taken me from about 17 till now (22) to build up the courage to act on my want to travel! deffo send me an email - although at the moment im poss only able to travel for 3 months (if im able to take three months out from work). will keep you posted on the work situation though
Hope you can find travel buddies sooner. Travelling in SE asia is very interesting. There are lots of beautiful spots there wherein you really enjoy a lot.
Im a 22 year old Female living in Scotland. I am looking for possibly meeting fellow travellers along the way or arrange to go with someone likeminded So far Im planning backpacking SE Asia late 2012/early 2013. At the moment im looking to travel for a minimum of 3 months and up to about a year. Would like to start in Thailand and visit Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos along the way. Possibly looking to extend my trip to include the Philippines, India, Oz, NZ and the Fijian islands - depending on how my savings go - have been looking into a round the world ticket if i am able to visit all my selected destinations - if not i will complete them all in several trips over time As you can see im happy to change and adjust my destinations if i find the right travel buddy
Due to friends and family having other commitments Iv decided to go on my own so far, if you have similar plans and would like to meet along the way or even maybe make plans together please do get in touch ... even if you have any advice on your own travel experience it would be much appreciated
I can be contacted on cara.cruickshank.ryan @ googlemail.com
Hi, I'm also looking to travel Asia, I'm looking to go at the beginning of 2013. 21 Year old female living in England. I'm also thinking about Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Maybe China and India too. (All depending on how many pennies I can save up!) My friends and family all have commitments too so therefore I am also planning to go on my own although I am little worried about this :/
Im looking at travelling this exact route and probably leaving in Sept/Oct 2012, Im 22 from the UK and this will also be my first time travelling and going alone so would be amazing to meet a few people on the way, everyone i've spoke to said you will meet so many new people but its still quite scary. So far I i'm landing Bangkok and will be celebrating my 23rd Birthday there so if anyone is there in Sept your all invited :D Il probably head for North Thailand as I want to arrive in Laos towards the end of Sept (less rain) and then up to Vietnam all the way down south, into Cambodia and then back to Thailand to explore the south and all the islands, I will then be heading for Malaysia, Singpore and Indonesia.
I have no timescales so literally going with the flow, if I like somewhere I will chill there for abit but if I dont I can quickly move on.
That sounds awesome. I really want to go to North of Thailand as have heard many good things about Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I'd like to have a "go with the flow trip" lol, but on my own i would worry about that..... i'm a worrier! lol. How much are you budgeting for all of that?
Yeah i'm the same, im worrying but I just want to get out there and do it, Everyone i've spoke to said you will meet so many people going the same way so your never really on your own. so that's helped lol. with money I've heard people have done it on $500 a month so thats about £350-£400.
What are your plans and when are thinking of leaving?
I'm thinking about leaving maybe January or February. Not too sure of exact plans. If i'm not meeting anyone there then am thinking about maybe doing like an organised trip although i'd rather not :/ what about you?
I'm from Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia.
Jakarta is like New York and Bangkok, crowded but there's many interesting and historical places to explore.
Me and my friends open a new city tour business. If you visit Jakarta, we have smart city tour packages. Maybe you also have chance to meet one of the world leader autograph collector in Jakarta, we can arrange that
If you have questions about Jakarta or Indonesia just ask me
I'm planning on leaving for Asia either Aug/Sept and thinking il be there atleast 6 months.
Organised trips your stuck to a plan though which I dont want, I'm more excited about the complete freedom of doing what ever you want and when you want probably as much as I am about going lol, and you can arrange trips when your their and thats an easy way to meet other travellers and you will probably see a few people more than once as so many people travel the same route.
Yes that's the reason I don't really want to do an organised one but I just worry about not having a plan. With my job everything has to be planned completely so guess I'm just in that frame of mind lol. I hope you have a great time!
