Hello fellow travelers,
I have decided to conclude my Gap Year in China with an extended backpacking adventure lasting 90 days or less. I am currently staying with a host family in shanghai, and my dates of travel are rather flexible. Preferably, I would set out some time in february and get to hong kong some time in may. As for where I will begin: I am still in the process of choosing (chongqing or chengdu seem like nice candidates, as Guilin and Yangshou are on the way). My budget is, at a maximum, 10,000 rmb.
This post is mainly a request to anybody out there who would like to be my traveling partner (if you have advice or comments, those are, of course, welcome as well). I am very flexible, am an experienced traveler, and I speak some mandarin. The road can be a lonley place (especially one as long as I am planning!), and I would delight in the company of another.
I expect to spend many if not most of the nights on the road, in a tent. Time spent in cities and hotels will serve as rejuvenation periods. We'll bring a small stove. We'll bring big backpacks. It will be three months of learning, exploration and rigor.
My thanks for your responses,
