just wondering if anyone could help me out,i am going to bali in mid february for 1 week around the kuta/legian area,i am going with my family and am wondering for some advice on a few things to do around the area.I saw there was a water park (waterbon i think) nearby which we will visit and i have heard there is a white water rafting trip we can do but if anyone has any advice for activities and/or recommendations about good places to eat/drink around the area that would be VERY greatly appreciated!!
thankyou in advance!
Bali has been very touristy for decades now and it shows. You can book a number of different tours and you'll find that as one tour leaves, another arrives in a factory like process.
Lots and lots of eating places for all budgets, but mostly cheap.
Beaches are good but sellers can be a nuisance.
Mosquitoes are out in the evening. And pickpockets in the daytime.

It's been a few years since we were in Bali (2004), but I remember the waterpark. Spent a day there and enjoyed it. We also took a few trips to the other side of the island, though those usually involved spending at least one night there. It's way way quieter there, and a lot more beautiful in my opinion.
Kuta is specially famous for the Waterpark mentioned by you and I'm sure kids will really enjoy it, also you would like the famous Spa, beaches here. The night life is really entertaining here.
I think you should go through this wiki article and you will get a lot more information about Kuta:
