I have talked to ladies in Thailand, VN & Philippines. They have told me how difficult it is to get a visa to visit the US.

Maybe that says more about the type of women you hang out with in those renowned sexpat countries!

Guilty as charged! I have certainly chatted with more than my share of sex workers! I do agree the TSA is better at 'security theater' than actual security. Because we cannot officially use 'profiling' of passengers, we will never be as effective as the Israelis. That is real security for airline passengers.

Now our southern border. As long as the penalty for getting caught entering the US illegally is a bus ride back across the border, we will never get to a secure border. At least ICE is now changing from the 'catch & release' days. What it is going to take IMO is for all employers to use E-Verify with stiff penalties for violators. If illegals cannot make a living in the US, they will go home, eventually.

Scarily on-topic: Two chavs travelling to the USA were denied entry in LAX because chavboy twittered lame jokes.

I realize nothing posted in this thread has been 'out of order' in any way. And, it's been an interesting discussion.

I just know, from past experience, it can 'head south' in a negative way very quickly. So, please continue to keep it on topic as Calcruzer and I hate editing/deleting things. Thank you!!!

Isa now returns this thread to it's originally scheduled topic.

I'm not aware that I said or implied any of that either

Wow. The power of twitter. My question is how the the US ICE officials knew to read his twitter posts. They cannot be reading tweets of every person coming the the US can they?

I wondered about that too.

I believe it's sort of like the other way round: They are reading tweets of every person, period. Not "reading" in the usual sense at first, but automatically scanning Twitter posts for phrases like "destroy America", "kill the president", "bomb the white house" etc..

As soon as they find any of that, they are putting that person on a watch list, a list that is also used by border authorities.

That makes more sense than ICE reading tweets of those entering the US.

Stupid and naive people like that shouldn't even leave their home, let alone their country. Look at that photo!
I know I know, I am judging by appearance of those two idiots, but can you tell me with dry eyes they are smart and interested in the USA as a travel destination?

Here's a little article about watching for keywords by DHS. watching your tweets

Interestingly this came out in December of 2011. Lets hope Travellerspoint isn't on their watch list or you and Vegasmike might be sharing a immigration cell in Texas!

Would be kind of interesting if people all decided to post comments like that on Twitter in a coordinated attempt. Would really mess up their algorithms :) But yeah, I'm only saying nice things about the US from here on in. Flights are booked for our trip there in a few months. I love America!
