Haha, I wish. No, just got back from a European trip, so probably not going again in April, unless I really find some good deals regarding plane tickets;)

You selfish person - chose Europe over the US.

You'll probably find airfares that will be cheaper than the money we'll have to pay on gas to drive in and out.

Katie, are you driving in or taking the bus?

I was in doubt reporting this reply But I know where to find you around the 20th of April

I actually should have bought tickets in January during the KLM world deal weeks: 425 euro back then and those were direct flights! Now it's like 800 or something. But had other things on my mind back then. Now I regret of course.
But if anybody finds me a ticket for the same price as gas return for you, I'll be happy to come over haha.
Amazing, those prices of gas. Here it is now €1.85 per liter. That's over 9 dollars a gallon Happy to drive diesel, as that is almost 20% cheaper at least
Maybe I could drive over the Bering Strait to Chicago, it might still be frozen then

We're complaining about $4.00/gallon for gas. Diesel fuel is even higher. Idiotic since it is cheaper to produce. Most major truck stops for the 'big rigs' now charge two different prices for diesel depending on how you pay for it - by credit card it's about 5 cents more (per gallon) than if paid by cash. For the long-haul truckers, especially the independents, that's quite a wad of cash to be carrying around.

Don't trust the Bering Strait. Alaska has seen record high temps too so you'd probably just float up to Sarah Palin's house. She stated she could see Russia from her back door. Yeah, and I can see Mobile, Alabama if I stand on my roof and look south.

I'll bet we can maybe see eachother if go to the top of Willis Tower in Chicago, or Dom Tower in utrecht, respectively. That way I can join the meetup as well

Currently looking at an apartment in Lincoln Park. Anyone else settled on where they're staying yet? Your decision might sway me, since being not too far away would make it easier to stay up late drinking ;)

Utrecht, I'll pay for your gas to and from the airport ;) As for me, just got word today that I can have Monday off - YAY!!!!!!!!!! So I'm planning to come into town Saturday morning and leave Monday. I have not looked at hotels yet, does Kris have some in on that? Oh, and I'm driving.

We have not decided on accommodations yet. But, we do try to find the best deal downtown so we can park at Kris' mother's condo parking lot. It's cheaper than hotel parking since she gets 'owner parking' tickets for guests.

Note to Kris and self - need to work on 'housing and parking'.

On that note - who all is showing up? So far, it's Peter and family, Katie, Kris, me and possibly Holly. She returns from Africa on April 8th. Maybe she'll bring Graham..

I'm trying to drag our friend Naomi along for at least a dinner. Katie has met her. Since we have to attend things with her boss, she owes me by meeting one of mine. Hey, seems only fair to me.

I'm glad you'll have a car with you.. Could come in handy after a night out drinking :)

Then again, that assumes someone would want to be a designated driver (unlikely), so maybe cabs will be order of the day after all!
