I am on my way to NZ via LA. my bro has decided to spend a week in america with me and we want to whistle stop tour.
We get it that a week is no time at all but we are happy just to laugh it off!
We want to see universal sudios, Do a tour of stars houses and see alcatraz and we are happy to spend 1 night in vegas living it up then over to grand canyon and then back to base to get him back to london.
Can anyone suggest the most effective route.
Im 29 he is 23 - we will hire a car of course .
All of your sightseeing plans make sense except San Francisco and Alcatraz. A couple of days in LA, over to Vegas, figure 5 hour drive, overnight in Vegas. Then drive down to the Grand Canyon. I would take the Hoover Dam tour, new bypass bridge, drive part of Route 66, then overnight in Williams AZ. Up early, all day at the GC, drive back to Williams. A 6-7 hour drive back to LA the next day. A lot of driving, but feasible. Adding SF makes it almost a non stop driving marathon IMO.
Good luck with your planning.
Thanks for that. I am there an extra 4 days after they leave so i may hit san fran alone.
