I figured I should shed a little more light onto what my plan is. I'm definately doing this on the cheap. The £6000 will include my RTW ticket. I've read books that say it can be done on this, but you're all starting to worry me.

I plan on staying in hostels, buying food and cooking most of the time, and partying every now and then. I want to take in the culture as much as have fun, but I know I can't afford to hit the town every night.

I also plan to work in a couple of countries, so that £6,000 will end up being higher...how much higher, of course, I do not know! :(

Do I have enough money or will I end up selling my blood for food? hehe

The pound is so strong at the mo £1 GBP = $1.89 US and $2.4 AUS

We're budgeting for around 15-20 GBP a day (p.p) so thats 500 GBP
= 950 Dollars per month.

Which I think is going to be enough for..

1-2 months in South America
4-6 Months in Asia
We're only spending 1 month in AUS and NZ though...
So thats about 4500 GBP ...or 8550 USD

I'm not working I'd rather go home than save like mad THEN work and get stuck somewhere...

My RTW ticket is about 1400 GBP...
=6000

This will be my first time too...BTW

P.S I've found this to be a good site, lots of useful info and ideas.

your pretty lucky to be taking 6 grand!

i just shelled out on a rtw ticket. this has left me in my overdraft, again. oh well!

but i also have a working visa and plan on staying in oz for 9 months and working my way around. the rest of the time will be spent in dirt cheap countries untill i hit vegas where every penny i have will go on red. yes double or quits!

so, just chill and who cares about money. wait until u need it. then worry.

I'm hoping to go RTW in about 2 yearss, it will take me that log to save about ?12000. However this will have to include buying and doing up a ramshackle old jeep and bringing a baby with us. We'll hopefully be going overland through the top of Europe, down through possibly the edge of China, arouna Asia and back through Africa, spendind 1year.
Does anyone know if about ?10000 would be enough? Thats about £6700. All along I thought that that might be enough, until now! We will be sleeping in a tent on our jeep so there'll be no flights or accomodation costs.
