Most of you who play in Off Topic and hang out on Facebook know Katie Drop (aka TP's Wonkerer). She has become (another) close TP friend and visits us when she needs to de-stress, beat us at Scrabble, watch movies and (mostly) just talk to unwind. (She's 'wicked' at Scrabble.)

Anyway, for those of you who do not hang out on FB, Katie's father has been fighting pancreatic cancer for at least the last year. Recently, and unfortunately, the disease progressed faster than expected. Mr. Drop peacefully passed away during the evening of January 31st.

Please take time to post your condolences here. Having lost both of my parents, all the support one can gain from friends - even from a website - will be appreciated.

Katie, you and your family have both of our sympathies. Stay strong.

If I hear about these things, it's usually months after the fact. Not unlike Anthony and Marlis, I believe TP members should be aware that one of their members may want/need to know we, as a community, share in their loss. I may be wrong. But, in this case - I don't think I am...

Thank you - Isa

The most we can ask for is a happy life, followed by a peaceful departure from it, surrounded by family and friends. Rest in peace Mr. Drop.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Katie. A Dad is a wonderful person to have in your life, and by your posts and stories it seemed like yours was a great father who left many, many fabulous memories. May they comfort you in the most difficult times.

I.m really sorry for you and your family's loss...it was always hard to lose a loved one, especially a parent. I know you have a good bunch of friends who will support you but if you ever want to hide or escape then you're always welcome to stay with us..... Its a blessing that your dad had a peaceful passing and i hope you can focus mostly on the happy memories that you shared with him as time passes....he sounds like an amazing guy...
