Have you ever lied to get your way?

I think I'm genetically incapable of outright lying. Truth-stretching or skirting around the truth, yes, but I've never been able to lie - it feels like it's written all over my face. When I visited the Catacombs in Paris and got to the wicket, the surly girl behind the counter said "The student rate is $xx. How old are you?" - and although I can pass for a lot younger, I blurted out "30" and she sighed and rolled her eyes.

That being said, I think the truth surprises people more than we expect and ends up working a lot better than lying. Who said "the truth will set you free"...?

yes, it was Jim Carrey who said 'and the truth will set you free...' in Liar Liar...sad that I know it!

Not quite biblical though

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
