We are on a Baltic cruise this summer and have booked a couple of tours through toursbylocals.com. It is an internet based service where independent tour guides can market their services. There are some protections offered by the company and there are ratings/comments on the various tour guides. I have had a number of e-mail exchanges with the guides so feel pretty comfortable with them. They are also reasonably priced.
Can anybody comment on their experience with this service? Other thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance ...
Dear Traveller, As I work for toursbylocals as a guide in the area of the Baltic Sea I like to tell you - it is really good and safe. You will meet up with professional guides - local people - who know the area quite well. Since 2011 I work for Toursbylocals and I myself did some bookings - in Egypt and in Italy - everything was perfect - there is a warm welcome waiting for you! Kind regards Karin from Warnemuende / Baltic Sea - Germany
Last year on a travel show, the presenter had a "tour by local" and saw places that no tour company would have shown him. He was pleased with the tour.
