I've never been anywhere on my own before, and I'm taking the plunge in a month's time. Nothing's booked yet though, I just want to get some more experienced views before I do.

My (proposed) ticket comes from youthtravel.com (I'm a gap year student). The route is London - Delhi, Bombay, Singapore, Perth, Sydney, Queenstown, Christchurch, Auckland, Fiji, and finally Los Angeles. I have family friends in San Diego so I'll be staying with them for a week or so too.

So first of all, is youthtravel.com reliable? The ticket is £830 for that particular route.

I'm going to have a read of the relevant forums for a few tips about my destinations, but if anyone's got any particular hints about any of them for a rookie, I'd appreciate it.

I'm having my vaccinations tomorrow and I plan to book in the next few days. I already have a Visa for Australia and I'm in the process of applying for one for India. I understand I don't need any others (I'm staying in the USA for less than 90 days).

Thanks in advance for any warnings/hints.

In Perth .... check out the nightlife in Fremantle, catch a ferry to Rottnest Island, catch a bus up The Pinnacles (a rock desert)

Just L.A. and San Diego. I can't really afford to stay out there long enough to spend time anywhere else.

And thanks for the Perth tips, I'll look into it.

So, I'm kinda looking for advices here from the people who have been to RTW-trips before? What was the "route" you chose and why?
I'm planning of starting my trip from Thailand probably and then go to South pacific, maybe to papua new guinea, there to Salomon Islands,Vanuatu,Fiji,New Zealand, then to south america to brazil, peru, mexico and then to north america...wow,there are heaps of countries!Didn't even realise how many...LOL...what do you's reckon?Gimme so tips, hints, everything's welcome!

I went for one RTW-trip before but it was a quick trip cos I spent most of the time in Australia with that WH-visa.I visited to Singapore,Australia,Los Angeles and Hawaii.
