money makes us happy (we can stop working for a while and travel) but tend to kill love.

certainly world without money would be a better world

I've learned that sometimes you have to be alone to figure out who you are, how to be happy, what you want in life, and how to make peace with a lot of things. The person who emerges from all that is stronger, more confident and much, much richer (in the human sense, MASSAGEUK!). Seems easy to say, but that comes from the benefit of a few years of perspective.

A world without money would not stop power struggles

no money - no power.

no use for power in a moneyless society - everybody is equal and nobody can take advantage of being more 'have' than 'be'.

I agree with Wocca on this one. Even without money, power struggles would exist over something else - property, people, position. Even if we eliminated money, give it a few years and we'd reinvent it.

As for "no use for power in a moneyless society - everybody is equal". That made me think of old Russia, with people lining up for bread every morning. There's a danger in that kind of equality, since some people have the ambition and the drive to work and succeed, and others simply do not. If society says both are to remain equal in terms of money and power, well...

Even without money, equality will not exist. Any more than equality existing if all religion is removed from the playing field. There will always be someone who feels the need to have power over someone else - it's too primal and we're not quite that evolved. But, it is a nice thought...
