hey all :)

Im arriving in Sydney mid-June looking to begin travelling up the east coast mid-July (staying with family first!)

plans are pretty vague just now, but similar hopes as you guys! ideally, travelling and finding casually work along the way and seeing as much as Oz as i can!!

hopefully our paths might meet somewhere! excited to know so many people do travel alone!

Harriet :)

Have you been to Thailand before? If not you'll love it, I spent a month there a couple of years ago on my first RTW trip and had an absolute blast. I'm jealous!

At the moment my plan is to spend a year in Oz then a year in NZ but if I really love Oz I'll make sure I get my second year visa too and do NZ after that.

I haven't planned very much to be honest, I'm trying to wing it as much as possible! I did the east coast on my last RTW trip so I'd love to do WA and the Northern Territory because I've never been but the east coast is so much fun I would love to do it again. I definitely want to spend some time in Queensland because it's beautiful. I'll maybe spend a couple of months in Melbourne (also would love to rent a room somewhere/flatshare like you say) before travelling around a bit. I think a year might be a bit ambitious to do everything I want to do so I might just have to go for the second year visa!

I almost did Oz experience last time I was there but I found it was really inflexible so me and my friend ended up getting a camper van instead. This time I reckon I'll do the same as you and use the Greyhound if and when I need to. So it sounds like some of our plans are pretty similar!

I've only ever been to Thailand with family for a few weeks when I was about 15 so didn't quite experience everything, just a couple of elephant rides and quiet meals out! So looking forward to it! Can't believe how reasonable it is in comparison to Oz.

Ahh sounds like a good plan, not having too much set in stone seems the best way! Yeah I intend to apply for the second year visa if I'm enjoying it enough too and have relatives in WA. Everyone who goes out there seems to not want to leave! Maybe I'll bump into you in May anyway!

Hey Samantha and Kate

I've been in st kilda in Melbourne about week now at the moment I'm staying at habitat hq.

I was well excited about getting out here and certainly advise anyone who gets the chance to come.

If you guys are interested I'm happy to meet up for a drink? Let me no.

Cheers
