Where do I start? help!

Travel Forums Round the World Travel Where do I start? help!

So I've booked the 3 month career break starting in August 05 and now I have to decide where to go! I like the idea of a RTW trip but is 3 months enough? I am most likely going on my own (unless any of my mates decide to come) and don't even have a list of preferred places! I would love to see more of Australia (been to Sydney) and Mexico, Egypt, Fiji...any other suggestions please on what route I could take?

I'm 29 (yes big 3-0 this year)and have been to a few places so any far fetched ideas would be well received!

I would need to get the odd job also whilst travelling, don't mind doing bar work etc or fruit picking. If anyone knows of any decent websites I would really appreciate any tips.

I've never been anywhere on my own and I want to get organised...any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Kelly

Kelly,
"Is three months enough?" come on - not for a RTW journey! Not unless you want to see the world from the air basically. It took my partner and me five years... OK, I know that's a bit extreme, but still...
I would choose and concentrate on just one of the locations you mentioned - and then explore around there.

Enjoy the journey!

Hey Kelly

Three months is short but maybe you could choose a RTW ticket with 5 major stops or something and spend a few weeks in each place? That could be done, I'm sure.

Something like London - Singapore - Melbourne - Auckland - Fiji - (somewhere in MExico)
Check out STA travel...they seem to be very good for booking RTW deals.

Good luck with the planning!

Thanks samsara2,

I have been looking at the STA travel website and it is really helpful...I do realise now that it will be quite a fast moving trip so I really need to think about what destinations I want to visit the most. Perhaps a RTW trip is not the best idea but at least I have a bit of a better idea about what is feasible! This forum is great isn't it, I have been reading through the posts when I should be working!!

Thanks for your reply.
