visa confusion between travelling from Nepal to India

Travel Forums Asia visa confusion between travelling from Nepal to India

Hello, does anyone know the answer to this situation?:-

I am currently in Nepal (my 3 month tourist visa ends on 3rd March). I am on a Irish passport.

However, I would like to go to India for 1 month before my Nepal visa ends, stay in India for 1 month, and return to Nepal (around 14th March), and then return to India near the beginning of April.

I know that I cannot obtain a multiple entry Indian visa from Nepal, so when I return to India the second time will I have to purchase a new Indian visa? - and because I will have been in India for 1 month (although not used up my visa time), will I have to wait 2 months to return?

The same goes for Nepal, when I leave Nepal before my 3 month visa expires, will I be allowed to return less than a month later on a new visa?

When you enter India...enquire them and get visa for multiple entry and think that will solve your issue. But still i'm not clear with your issue.

I think you can still get a double entry visa for India from Nepal. You need to get it in Kathmandu. As far as Nepal coming back, they don't care so much, as long as you are giving them money. You may need to get a new visa for the remaining month you are there, but you can get it at the border. You can probably find people with more up to date info here, IndiaMike
