Hello all,

I went to NYC back in 2003 and I enjoyed the cheap clothes shopping. In particluar Suits, Jeans, etc.

Coming from the UK it was remarkably cheaper and from what i remember the ROE was the same as what it is now.

I am thinking about going back and would like to know if the clothes are still relatively cheaper than what they are here in the UK?

Love and peace

M

I'm guessing they won't be as cheap as the exchange rate is nowhere near as good. Back in 2007, you got $2 for every £1 but I think it's only $1.5 now so they probably will be cheaper but not loads cheaper.

2007 and 08 is when the dollar crashed around the world. He was back in 2003 when the dollar was more stable and was averaging $1.6, plus with the way the economy is now, there are always good sales going on. So yes, you will find clothes cheaper in the US than the UK.

The answer is yes. It's still quite a bit cheaper. Basically my friends in the UK say that the difference in price is just one of pounds to dollars (i.e. if something is £15 back home, expect to pay $15 in the states).
