mystik has indicated that this thread is about Australia

My family and I are looking to move to the Brisbane area by June of this year. We are pursuing our visas currently, but havnt gotton too far with that yet. We will be needing info on work and homes available. I am a chef of ten years, and currently pursuing my AS Culinary degree. Will be done with that in June of this year. If anyone can guide us in the right direction on pursuing our visas, that would be great, and any other helpful info....Thanx again....

Welcome to Brisvegas. Your lucky that you are in the hospitality trade as Brisbane is starting to catch up to Sydney with some really nice restaurants. ;)

The Gold Coast is just south of Brisbane. You may care to seek work there as well

Why am I lucky? Are the jobs hard to come by in the Brisbane area? I am looking for employment and homes as well from the Gold Coast area to the Sunshine Coast area. Any suggestions...Wont be moving until later in the year, but always open to suggestions...thanx

I'm trying to work out an internship with ESR but it isn't a paid position, so I'll need another job if I'm going to afford it. Any suggestions on good pay/flexible hours for someone on a visa?

I am looking to work in Brisbane from May until August. Any ideas on places to sublet for a couple months?

We lived in Brisvegas for 4 years - after leaving Sydney, before relocating with work to Perth (2 years) and now back in Melbourne. I travel to Brissie every 2 weeks and my wife has family there. Great place, plenty of work for chefs, either City Hotels or cafe/bar/restaurants. You should check out the GoldCoast, but better still go north to Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, which is really booming. Good Luck you'll love it !!
