okayyy.. so these forums confuse me a tad an i find them hard to keep track off. Im 21. I have just split up with my boyfriend of 1 year (living together etc) and ive moved back with my dad. I never thought id get the chance to save again and well now i can ! All ive done is worked hard and been with my ex .. ive never done the thing i want to do which is travel :) so if you plan on heading to oz/nz early 2013 and you want some company then add me on fbook: anna 'christiana' wilson.... i live in leeds, just send me a quick msg and we can help each other plan and throw ideas around !! im soo excited to do this :D x

It sounds like im in the same position as a lot of you! Friends Are mostly tied down with mortgages and jobs already and so I've decided to save up and escape the UK at the end of February 2013.

As i will be on my own I am thinking of going with the ultimateOZ intro week in Sydney, hopefully to meet some other's on their own, anyone got any ideas if this is the best way to do it??

Thinking about sticking around in Sydney for a couple of months and working, then moving on to the next city, travelling up to Cairns!

Would appreciate any advice or messages from anyone that will be arriving in Feb or MArch too

Hi,

I am soooooo glad I am not the only one that is beginning to fill with dread at the thought of moving to another country. I have been far to relaxed about it thus far. The idea option is late sept/oct. I have my visa sorted and my brother works for british airways so hopefully my travel will not cost a great deal.
However, work and accom wise I am sooo out of the loop. I literally going to oz for a new life not a hol. So I will be pretty much looking for work asap.
Money wise though I am a bit lost. I was thinking around 2,000 would be enough to see me through.
But it would be grand to meet up with those in the same boat. Makes the burden alot easier to bear. :-)

If anyone has any information, or where the best places to look for accom are it would be greatly appreciated.

For how long, and in what currency? Assuming GBP, that should last you maybe 6-7 weeks, assuming you don't do any expensive activities, stay in dorm rooms, cook your own meals, and travel by public transport.

The accommodation section here at travellerspoint *points to the top nav bar* has all the hostels of both hostelworld and hostelbookers, so generally is my starting point for finding places.
